Farewell, Jure Robic

Another legendary cyclist has been killed in a traffic accident. Jure Robic was an unspoken, underrated cycling legend. The five-time winner of the 3,000 mile Race Across America (RAAM) -- arguably the most grueling sporting event in existence.

Robic was struck by a car about five kilometers from his home, while descending a narrow mountain road in the Karavanke mountain range near the town of Jesenice.

I'm speechless. Such a tragedy.

Here's the trailer for one of the truly great cycling documentaries, Bicycle Dreams. The story of RAAM, featuring Jure Robic.
