BP will place a tighter-fitting cap on its gushing Gulf of Mexico well that could start capturing all of the oil being released as soon as Monday evening, National Incident Commander Thad Allen said this morning.
BP will begin the process of removing the existing cap, which has been on the well for about a month, on Saturday.
Just in time! Since the drilling moratorium is kaput, BP and the Coast Guard will be available to get to work on the next deep water spill. You know, because the 'drill baby drill' people want to keep drilling before the rigs are equipped with the proper safety mechanisms -- relief wells and the like. And the parade of ignorance and profit-driven crisis marches on...
