In other news, FBI director James Comey confirmed today that Russian hackers also hit Republican offices at the state and national level.

Meanwhile, the intelligence community is just as pessimistic about the future as you are. The National Intelligence Council says declining American leadership under Trump will contribute to global instability. Here's The American Prospect on the possibilities for war under Trump.

Finally, I just wanted to share this paragraph. You don't often see this level of insult from the Associated Press.

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — As the last of the top jobs in the Trump administration are handed out in Washington, Gov. Chris Christie is looking increasingly like the guy in "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory" who is told: "You get nothing! You lose! Good day, sir!"

This was one of the hardest things I've ever read.

Today has been quite a day, amirite?

This is what the Party of Family Values has put into the White House. This is what the “Christians” of the Christian Right gave their endorsements to. This is what Jerry Falwell Jr. and Franklin Graham backed and convinced their supporters to vote for. A sick, depraved little rich boy who gets women to defile a bed because a politician and his wife once slept in it.

The Christian Right isn’t made up of Christians. They’re just Republicans.

Chris Christie seems to be the only “deplorable” who is experiencing any well deserved justice.

“Trump will quickly and irretrievably lose control of his threats and commitments, and he will find himself pressured to pursue unwanted wars to preserve the very image of toughness that will get him into trouble in the first place.”

Heaven. Help. Us. All. That article is terrifying.

The GQ article about the young football player was too much. I clicked off.
Interesting musical choice JM. The world is feeling rather Lynchian, isn’t it.

Agreed. And it’s also what the purist “Jill, Not Hill!!”/”Bernie or Bust!” folks also helped put in the White House.

And why is anyone surprised at just how bad Trump would be in foreign affairs? It was plain as day for months–but the media chose to play grab-ass with emails and other nothingburgers in regards to Hillary–and the GOP didn’t give a damn, and the far Left was too busy howling about how we had to run to Bernie or Jill because Hillary was somehow worse

Well, here we are. Hope all those fuckers are happy.

The revelations today prove just what a depraved jackass 62 million people voted for last year. And yet watch as some try to claim that Bill Clinton was worse, or just how bad Obama was, or that Hillary was more bloodthirsty…

Needless to say, this is getting to be a very large snowball, and it’s still rolling downhill.

I do hope for a more progressive America and I guess I am further to the left than Hillary. That said, I’m old enough to have seen how slowly progress is made in this country and that Hillary would have kept forward motion going, however slowly and imperfectly. She would have been a fine President who have made us all proud (Those of us with a brain in our head). The country’s dignity would have been preserved.

We’re somewhere between David Lynch and the Coen brothers.

Let’s just hope it doesn’t turn into a Michael Bay flick.

        • The blackmail material on Herr Hair couldn’t be any tackier or more predictable. So we’re half way there.

          • ninjaf

The blackmail is what takes us back into Coen Brothers territory. And the incompetent villain even has a bad haircut.

      • I feel like we’re in the final scene of A Serious Man. All these kids are standing in the school parking lot watching a tornado coming straight for them and not many of them look terribly worried and most aren’t even trying to take shelter.
