I'm generally not very shocked by wingnut conspiracy theories anymore. But every once in a while their dumbstupid reaches new levels of ridiculousness -- crying out for us all to point and laugh, laugh, laugh.
Gateway Pundit, one of the most popular wingnut bloggers, thought the Jumbotron closed captioning text of the president's Tucson address was actually an elaborate "applause" prompter, instructing the audience when and how to react to the proceedings. Again, it was closed captioning for the deaf and for the benefit of the overflow audience outside.
Between this and their sudden hangup with teleprompters, I'm wondering if certain wingnuts are actually a species of proto-human -- frightened and confused by mysterious technology. Oooh! Oooh! Did the gods put the magic words on the glowing picture window?! Ooooooh! Magic words! Run away! Oooh!
