Ten people were injured Tuesday evening when a shotgun was accidentally discharged inside the St. Charles Sportsman’s Club, according to the Kane County Sheriff’s Department.
Police responded to the club, 44W471 Keslinger Road in unincorporated Blackberry Township, at 7:30 p.m. after they received calls about a gun that had gone off inside the clubhouse.
Seven people were treated at the scene as a result of the shooting, and three people were transported to a local hospital with non life-threatening injuries, deputies said. Kane County Sheriff’s deputies and Elburn police and fire officials all responded to the incident.
No charges have been filed against the 69-year-old St. Charles resident who was handling the shotgun when it went off, deputies said. He was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
Yeah, I’m sure the same thing would’ve happened with a knife.
