Among the many other reasons why President Obama would be justified in vetoing the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) passed by the House of Representatives, the bill would prohibit the Department of Defense from considering if young immigrants who've been granted deferred action should be allowed to volunteer for the military.
While the leader of the conservatives who rebelled against the idea, Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL), said they should not be allowed to serve because they'll take our jobs, Representative Dave Brat (R-VA) says they shouldn't be allowed to serve the country because they will destroy us all.

“Well, what’s going on is the decline of Western Civilization at the highest level,” Brat responded. “I think everybody knows their old Roman history, part of the reason Rome fell was because they started hiring the barbarians in, otherwise known as the Germans at the time, to be troops in their own army, and that led to their eventual downfall.”
Brat also had a response to proponents of the measure who pointed out that being willing to serve in the U.S. military shows a certain level of patriotism: “I wanted to stand up and shout, I mean ISIS is willing to serve in our military as well.”
I have to say if a spattering of literally dozens of immigrants serving in our million-man military could engineer our downfall, maybe we don't deserve to survive as a nation.
Maybe we don't deserve to survive because we elect men like Mo Brooks and David Brat.
