Several high ranking Republicans including Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell have shut down the effort to fully repeal Obamacare, but Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS) told his constituents that he's determined to keep fighting
We must keep fighting Obamacare, Wicker says, because the goal of kicking tens of millions of people off healthcare is just like fighting Nazi Germany.
He compared the Republicans efforts on health care to Dunkirk, the subject of a popular film recently released that dramatizes the evacuation of British forces from a French beach as France fell to the Nazis in 1940.
"The French and British faced a 'setback' in fighting the Germans," he said. "And that is what the Senate has faced with health care."
When pressed by one of his constituents, Wicker reportedly rejected the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) analysis that showed over 20 million people would lose their coverage under legislation he supports.
Rejecting that analysis would be necessary to not collapse in on yourself under the crushing irony of comparing health care coverage to Nazi Germany.
If you actually accepted the CBO's analysis, that would make Senator Wicker one of the Germans in this analogy.
