GOP Senator: We’re Not Talking About Obamacare

Written by SK Ashby

Trump says a replacement for Obamacare may not materialize until next year. Speaker of the House Paul Ryan says a replacement will arrive this year.

Senator Bob Corker, on the other hand, says they aren't even talking about Obamacare.

To be honest, there’s not any real discussion taking place right now,” Corker told reporters in the Capitol.

He said nervous talk about the consequences of repeal were accurately captured by secret audio from last month’s Republican retreat in Philadelphia. The same fears were expressed in additional sessions that were not recorded, he said.

Between Trump, Ryan and Corker, Corker's assessment of the situation seems to be the most plausible and evident to me.

If they were having "real discussions" about a potential replacement, we would have more details about it than we currently do. We currently have no details at all.

Paul Ryan's buzzwords aren't details. Ryan uses all the same slogans and phrases today that he's been using since he first introduced his Path to Poverty Prosperity budget nearly 7 years ago.
