Of course Susan Collins and Jeff Flake and every other senator who extracted a blood-oath promise from Mitch McConnell knew there was less than a snowball’s chance that those promises would be kept. They were after political cover, so they could go back to their states and make frowny faces and tell people they tried, but The Congress wouldn’t do the right thing and support the obvious solution to a serious national problem.

In other words, Collins, Flake and the rest are as full of shit as a goose.

“What the American the people are sick of..?” Seriously. This bill has a whopping %25 approval rating. Lower than trump’s. If you ask people whether they want a $25 billion cut to Medicare this year alone and subsequent cuts every year after, their answer would be an unequivocal NOOOOO. What they hell does the GOP care what “the American people” want? Everything they have done has been in violation of all the promises trump made during the campaign to not cut Medicare or Medicaid or Social Security. At least the public promises he made to the people.
What he promised in the back rooms of power would be another matter, wouldn’t it?
Ryan only supported him because he would sign whatever crap Ryan could get to his desk and the fact that it gutted those social programs that are the most popular with the public, which is the Ryan agenda, would not bother trump in the least.
He doesn’t really care about anyone but himself. The creation that network TV sold the public is a fiction.
He is a slug. An incompetent slug. Who was born into money and could still only make money by cheating other people or selling out to foreign criminals.
