It Takes A Disaster

This almost slipped through unnoticed, but Republicans and Conservadems successfully filibustered the Senate climate crisis bill and Harry Reid doesn't plan to bring it up again before the August recess.

It's horseshit like this that will make future historians condemn our generation.

And it's further proof that real climate crisis legislation will only happen after it's too late -- it already kind of is, but I'm referring here to a major climate disaster. An event that will convince humans to abandon their cars and demand change. I just wonder about the magnitude about this epiphany event. Global warming is slow, and there won't be any Day After Tomorrow tidal waves.

I'm not feeling particularly hopeful today. Obviously.
