It dawned on me just now, oddly, as I was readjusting my 3-year old's car seat straps, how simply wonderful it is to have a man who is our president-elect stand in front of millions of Americans and say that his wife is both his "best friend" and "the love of [his] life," and to say to his two daughters, "I love you more than you can imagine."
Forget about the fact that I can't imagine George W. Bush or, really, any of the presidents in my lifetime ever uttering those words in an acceptance speech, and just drink in the fact that the next "leader of the free world" AKA arguably the most powerful governmental leader in the world has absolutely no trouble at all declaring his love for his loved ones.
That is beyond fantastic from where I sit.
