Marco Rubio Daydreams Out Loud

Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) says that if he were president — Ha!– the current influx of undocumented children from Central America wouldn’t have happened.

“Well first of all, it wouldn’t have happened because I never would’ve signed an executive order granting deferred action to those who were in this country illegall,” Rubio told host Bill O’Reilly.

Rubio somewhat defended President Obama, saying his executive order giving legal status to some young migrants showed a “tremendous amount of compassion,” but that it was not the solution.

“That wasn’t the right way to do it,” Rubio said. “It sent the message that actually invited people to come, and you see the disaster that has followed.”

If you read this and have no idea what Rubio actually believes, you wouldn’t be the only one.

He describes the president’s executive order to defer action against DREAMers as compassionate, but then says it was a mistake because, clearly, we don’t want to send the message that America is a compassionate nation. No, we’re a nation of indifferent assholes.

Rubio has changed positions on immigration reform multiple times in the past year and multiple times in just the past month. He abandoned his own efforts to pass immigration reform last year but last week he decided to begin supporting his own bill again.

Fast forward to today and it’s no longer clear what he does or does not support.

Rubio isn’t even qualified to serve as the president of a student body.
