In other news, Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant and local officials are asking the Trump regime for help in the aftermath of a Tornado outbreak, but Trump's FEMA is nowhere to be found. Heckuva job!

Meanwhile, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker wants to force people with children to work at least 80 hours to qualify for food stamps. The Trump regime will undoubtedly approve this.

Let's take a moment to reflect on the absurdity of someone who works 80 hours and still qualifies for food stamps. That's minimum wage in America which, as you know, Scott Walker considers to be a "living wage."

Finally, Trump signed an executive order today to revive the Keystone XL pipeline extension but, as you might know, that's actually a Canadian pipeline that would carry Canadian oil. Canada formally abandoned their end of the project so Trump's order may or may not result in the pipeline being built. Trump's other order to build the Dakota Access pipeline in North Dakota has a much higher chance of happening.

In any event, everything is terrible. Sweet dreams.

Here's the insult comic dog at the inauguration.

"Right now, millions of Americans are peeing in their pants. Ironically, this only serves to strengthen Trump's erection."

  • Sometimes Triumph strikes me the wrong way but he really made me laugh with this video.

me too, little crude for my taste, but this worked, lol

  • “Let’s take a moment to reflect on the absurdity of someone who works 80 hours and still qualifies for food stamps.”

Let’s take a moment to reflect on the absurdity of someone who works 80 hours being able to successfully raise their children. Family values indeed.

    • Ah, I was thinking 80 hours a week. It’s 80 hours a month. Still horrible, but not batshit insane horrible.

Don’t most people who qualift for food stamps already work full time, or close to it? Also, how does Walker expect these parents with school age children to work for their food stamps, in addition to the work they are already doing at their “day jobs”, without childcare?

    • It’s practically impossible to find childcare for the extra 40 hours they are expecting. Daytime is easy to find although very expensive but nighttime care? Impossible to find much less affordable on a minimum wage. I honestly don’t know how the working poor pay for childcare. It eats a massive chunk out of my budget.

      • ninjaf

We don’t have children and I have no idea how people who do pay for it. Seriously. That is some next level financial management skills. LOL

        • It costs almost as much as I pay for housing. And since some states, like Arizona, got rid of all day kindergarten, the cost doesn’t drop down to reasonable until they get into 1st grade. I’ve resorted to taking my lunch hour at 3:30 to pick my older child up from school and take her home, where she can self-supervise. But my younger one is far too young to be alone at home. Thankfully my school district provided full day kindergarten anyway (by shifting funds in their budget to pay for it). So I only have to pay for after school care now.

To make matter worse, we can’t deduct the full amount paid for childcare on federal taxes. AND the proposed Trump plan will not improve this situation for the working poor. It will help the wealthy, however.

Friend of mine was someone who used to post “Trillary/Dump 2016” on Facebook because ya know, “Hillary was just as bad.” Reason this keeps occurring to me is he is also a person who was opposed to Keystone & DAPL and was strongly supportive of the protesters who wanted to protect the lands. I never tried to argue with him because I knew it would be a waste of time. After the election he would post stuff like Hillary supporters should go find a Trump supporter and give them a hug because we need to get along…..and stuff.

I wonder if he still thinks that. I’ll ask him. Eventually.

    • Georgie

I know a bunch like that, one said she felt vindicated after the election, I wonder too what she is feeling now.

      • Scopedog

I hope she’s feeling like s**t, but…if I recall my experiences with Nader voters in 2000, it will take some time for them to actually realize just how wrong they were. In the aftermath of 9-11, I asked an acquaintance of mine who had been fervently for Nader (and yes, he was always howling about how Bush and Gore were the same) if this would have happened under Gore. His immediate response: “Well, it would have been far, far worse under Gore!!” When we invaded Iraq under Bush, he responded with, “Well, Gore wanted to blow up all of the Middle East anyway!” without offering one shred of evidence to back this up.

Whatever the case, I’ve always reserved a certain level of disgust for the “Both sides!” crowd, since they seem intent on ignoring the evidence in front of them that shows that such a belief is utter horseshit.

        • Badgerite

Nader himself has always encourages that. To this day.

but…if I recall my experiences with Nader voters in 2000, it will take some time for them to actually realize just how wrong they were.

And long still to actually admit it, if they ever do.

    • Badgerite

Bernie Sanders himself seems reduced to making statements in protest. A lot of them. Problem with that is that there is so much to protest and it is all coming at once so it is hard to get traction on any one thing. And don’t think the corporate shills in the GOP don’t know that. That “tennis ball machine” of awful that Bob and Chez talk about. Phoop. Phoop. Phoop, phoop, phoop, phoop. Today they leaked the proposed ban on Muslim immigration, ostensibly to prevent terrorism and it includes a lot of Muslim countries with the noticeable exception of Saudi Arabia where 15 of the 19 hijackers on 9/11 were from. So, apparently Saudi Arabia is fine and so is Goldman Saches.
      Surprise me.

  • Georgie

Thanks for Triumph, I needed that!

    • Georgie

      And Walker sucks donkey balls.
