Several weeks ago on the Bubble Genius Bob & Elvis Show, my fill-in cohost John Plummer (aka. JumpyPants) suggested that some of the firebagger opposition to President Obama represented a rising show of racism on the left.
Honestly, I don't know. There was certainly bits of questionable ideas flying around during the 2008 primary campaign, some of it awkwardly fueled -- intentionally or not -- by the Clinton campaign. And it would be foolish to believe that no one on the left hates the president partly because he's African American. Couple that with the notion that everyone is racist to a certain degree, regardless of how minor.
But Angry Black Lady at Balloon Juice seems to agree with Plummer -- suggesting there's some very real racism happening in the dairies over at Firedoglake.
