Over a Dozen Charities Dump Trump

By Friday evening only a handful of charities had canceled their annual fundraisers at Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, but that number has now swelled to at least fourteen.

The only two organizations that haven't canceled their Mar-a-Lago fundraisers (yet) probably won't surprise you.

In all, 14 have canceled and only two events remain: The Palm Beach Police Foundation's annual Policeman Ball and the Palm Beach County Republican Party's annual Lincoln Day Dinner, according to reports.

The departures could cost the Trump Organization $1.1 million in total, the Washington Post estimated, with rental fees ranging from $24,000 to $276,000. Recent financial reports showed that the property generated around $37 million in revenue from January 2016 to April 2017. Profits from Mar-a-Lago are placed in a trust for the duration of Trump's presidency while Eric Trump and Donald Trump, Jr. manage the estate.

A million dollars may not mean a whole lot to Trump, but the loss of prestige and the insult of these organizations canceling on him will almost certainly strike a nerve.

As of now, I still can't think of any good reasons why these charities chose the Mar-a-Lago in the first place or why they hadn't already canceled their fundraisers.

In context with everything else we've seen lately, it appears virtually nothing Trump said during the 2016 campaign was taken seriously even though he was absolutely serious. Trump hasn't changed. He played the role of Nazi-whisperer during the campaign as well. The only thing that has changed is public recognition that this is the real Trump. He is possibly the most miserable piece of shit in the world.

  • That’s okay, he’ll make it back via the Secret Service in less than a week.

After i lost my previous job six months ago, i’ve had luck to find about this superb website that was a life saver… make $85 every hour and get paid at the end of each week …They offer online home-based work. My last month check after working with them for 3 months was $12000… Amazing thing about it was that only requirement for the job is basic typing and reliable internet…

Even a shell game dressed up as a company like The Trump Organization can withstand the loss of $1.1 million. Yes, it will make the bottom line look not so good, but with a little creative accounting, it might even benefit TTO at the end of the year.

What Donald Trump will do about the loss of face is an open question. He needs a scapegoat, but can’t fire Uday and Qusay because they’re family (or Family, if you prefer) and he’ll never accept responsibility himself (or admit he’s toxic), so he’ll blame the lying failing fake news media for bullying the charities into moving their functions. I do wonder if he’ll take potshots at the charities; it would be a dumb thing to do, but Trump does dumb things when he’s feeling pouty.

I expect tomorrow morning’s tweetstorm from the Lincoln Bathroom will be something to behold.
