Oversight Chairman Suddenly Loses Interest in “Fishing Trips”

House Oversight Committee Chairman Jason Chaffetz continues to insist he will investigate despot-elect Donald Trump's conflicts of interest after he's sworn into office, but for the time being Chaffetz has given up long, relaxing fishing trips on the open waters of Benghazi.

Trump’s feet will be held to the fire should his business interests become a problem, Chaffetz promised. But he also argued Democrats are going overboard by flogging an issue that remains hypothetical.

“It is a little ridiculous to send me six letters before he’s even been sworn in to go on, essentially, fishing trips,” he said. “That’s not what we do.

Dude. Bro. My man, I have news for you: the GOP has been on a fishing trip for the past six years. They didn't return to port even once.

Not only is it what they do, it's all they do.

As you know, Chaffetz gleefully pledged to spend "years" investigating Hillary Clinton as president before the election even took place. I can only imagine his grave disappointment that he'll have to find something else to do with his time without a Clinton to kick around.
