As near as I can tell, here’s how things went. People who were polled during the debate thought it was about even. People polled after the debate thought Romney won. People polled a little later, after the media feeding frenzy, thought Romney crushed Obama in an epic rout.

I think we’ve all gotten caught up in the spin. Barack Obama put in a middling performance in the debate last week but it was hardly an oh the humanity!-scale disaster. Don’t panic, as the book says (in large, friendly letters on the cover).

I would expect a better debate performance from Obama next week.

And in order to vent, I’m embarrassed to say that I’ve been trading insults with right wing dolts on the daily beast. OMG, the ignorance is astounding.

They handle “winning” with such ugliness and derision.

I wish to hell everyone would stop saying “the president lost” his performance “sucked” romney “won”.

The president did what he was supposed to do. Debate. Talk. Tell the damn truth. Talk about the issues.
Romney did not fucking win! He lost if you count anything that should really matter. He. LOST.

THAT should be our mantra. Romney LOST. Romney LIED. Romney SUCKS.

Just imagine the gloating that would have been had it been a Republican who got Bin laden, saved the economy from being eaten alive, got us out of Iraq, or created 5 million jobs?

America would have been renamed, “The United States of Right Wing Conservatism.”
