Report: Trump Regime Idiotically Threatens Alaskans Over Obamacare Vote

According to a report from the Alaska Dispatch News, Trump regime interior secretary Ryan Zinke personally threatened the economy of Alaska because Senator Lisa Murkowski (R) voted against repealing Obamacare.

Alaska Sen. Dan Sullivan said the call from Zinke heralded a "troubling message."

"I'm not going to go into the details, but I fear that the strong economic growth, pro-energy, pro-mining, pro-jobs and personnel from Alaska who are part of those policies are going to stop," Sullivan said.

"I tried to push back on behalf of all Alaskans. … We're facing some difficult times and there's a lot of enthusiasm for the policies that Secretary Zinke and the president have been talking about with regard to our economy. But the message was pretty clear," Sullivan said. The Interior secretary also contacted Murkowski, he said.

Given the staggering ignorance of everyone else in the Trump regime, we can't be certain that Zinke knew that Senator Lisa Murkowski is the gatekeeper for Interior Department funding. She is both the department's top authorizer and appropriator.

She also has the power to do things like this:

Now, back to the matter at hand: the Trump regime is threatening the livelihood of Alaskans because one of their two senators voted against legislation that would threaten the livelihood of Alaskans.

Zinke essentially threatened to fuck over the people of Alaska if Murkowski doesn't consent to fucking them over herself. Because that's what repealing Obamacare without implementing an equal replacement would do. Alaskans already have some of the highest health care bills in America, but Trumpcare would make it even worse.

It's not clear if Zinke even has the power to follow through on his threats, but he threatened the wrong people in any case.

If nothing else, it’s extortion. Surely that’s illegal?

What, putting a horse’s head in Lisa Murkowski’s bed was too expensive?

Maybe the Mooch could sic the FBI on her.

“Nice state you have here…would be a shame if something happens to it.”
Does this violate the RICO Act?

What’s more, the GOP is wrong to follow trump’s lead on this. They most definitely will “own it” if they proceed when insurance organizations, doctors organizations, patients organizations, just about everyone and their cousin has warned them that the effects of this will be very, very bad. On everyone. And when those bad effects start to hit, they will “own” this and they will not be able to blame it on “the black guy”. This is not something that I believe people are not paying attention to. This is not something that I believe they can continue to fool the public on. And Dems need to be vociferous in their outrage about the manner in which this bill would be passed and the bad effects that it will have on insurance markets and the health of this country both individually and in terms of public health issues.
For a friggin tax cut that will spur Wall Street profits, maybe, and pretty much nothing else. If there is investment, it will be in automation at this point. Even in the coal industry. It will be in automation.

      Well said.

and they will not be able to blame it on “the black guy”

They blamed 9/11 on the black guy. So I wouldn’t be so sure of that.

And Dems need to be vociferous in their outrage

As has been the case for the past 20+ years. Still waiting for them to start…
