In other news, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell finally recognize Joe Biden's victory following yesterday's electoral college vote. McConnell reportedly told other Senate Republicans not to object when Congress ratifies the results.

Meanwhile, the National Security Council held another emergency meeting yesterday and officials say Russian's latest hack may be the biggest ever.

"This is probably going to be one of the most consequential cyberattacks in U.S. history,” one U.S. official said, after the National Security Council held its second meeting in three days about the attacks, which security experts have linked to Russian intelligence. “That's the view from inside government — that we're dealing with something of a scale that I don't think we've had to deal with before."

Finally, the United States record a massive number of coronavirus infections yesterday; a new record even without the asterisk of a backlog.

The U.S. counted more than 200,000 Covid-19 cases Monday, reporting 261,250 cases, according to NBC News' tally.

The high total was partially due to a backlog of nearly 50,000 probable cases reported in Texas. The country also reported 1,642 Covid-19 deaths, bringing the death toll to more than 301,000.

As of Monday, at least 1 in 20 in the U.S. have had the disease.

I think we can infer that these are Thanksgiving-related infections. With an incubation time of up to two weeks, several more days for symptoms to worsen, plus the 4 to 5 days for test results, this is about when we would expect to see it.

My brother has apparently recovered from his infection now, but he still can't taste anything he says. His test results took 4 days to come back.
