I've been waylaid by post-election exhaustion, work, job hunting, children and medical situations, but feel compelled to get back to blogging now that the heroic Patrick Fitzgerald has returned to the front pages and is accompanied by his latest target: the Blagojevichs, the most [expletive]ing expletive-loving bunch of mother[expletive]ers to force the mainstream press to use their [expletive] parenthesis since they were writing during the heyday of The Sopranos.
Living in a state that just recently saw a governor step down because he could count among his foibles that of being a whoremonger, it is all that much more stunning to see the level to which Blagojevich and his team, including his very own Cubs-hating Carmella, Mrs. Patricia Blagojevich, have sunk. These cretins make the common earthworm appear a vaunted and heavenly creature by comparison. We can only wish their sentences are painful enough for them to actually recognize their own culpability in their demise, and to perhaps even see the possibility that they could, in fact, come out of prison and try to do something more than just be a group of venal, egoistic, scuttling troglodytes.
