Super Tuesdee

Three satisfying aspects of yesterday's results.

First, Congressman Sestak won a clear victory over Senator Specter. I'm half-expecting Specter to become an independent and run anyway, but I don't think he's up for it.

Second, Manan Trivedi won the Democratic primary here in the PA-6th. He'll go on to challenge empty-suit Republican Jim Gerlach for the House seat, and I believe he has a strong chance to win since he's the first Democratic challenger to come from Berks County (where I live now). Berks generally decides the winner in the PA-6th, and an Iraq veteran doctor from Berks County is a strong resume to unseat Gerlach, who's a big nothing. Learn more about Trivedi here.

Third, suck it, traditional media! The Democratic candidate, Mark Critz, defeated Republican Tim Burns to take over John Murtha's old PA-12th seat. This was an evenly divided race, but Critz ended up winning by around eight points -- totally undermining the "Republicans will take over in 2010" media narrative.
