“That bill’s not going to pass”

This quote comes to us from the lips of Senator Marco Rubio so, you know, you can take it with a mound of salt, but I think he's right.

Rubio spoke to a local CBS affiliate in Florida and said Trump's plan for cutting legal immigration is dead on arrival. But, this is Marco Rubio we're talking about, so he also expressed support for the spirit of the legislation without actually endorsing it.

"That bill's not going to pass," Rubio said to CBS 4's Rick Folbaum. "I think the White House knows that you don't have 60 votes for that in the Senate." [...]

"It actually has elements of it that were part of the 2013 proposal," Rubio said, referring to his bipartisan immigration overhaul effort which failed after the House decided not to vote on it. "In 2013 the very controversial Gang of Eight, four Democrats and four Republicans, proposed moving legal immigration to a merit-based system."

As you know, Rubio came out against his own immigration bill because he wanted to run for president. Who knows what he really believes? Does he sincerely believe in anything?

In any case, he's right about one thing: there aren't 60 votes for this.

I don't want to get too far ahead of myself, but it's looking increasingly likely that we'll make it through the first year of Trump without a single one of his major initiatives being signed into law.

The only thing Chris Christie ever did that had any value, was exposing Marco Rubio for the empty shell he really is during one of the debates.

Now, if only we can keep the streak going for four years …

Does he really believe in anything? Your guess is as good as mine. I would say he believes in whatever he thinks will get him elected and/or whatever the powers that be in his party tell him to believe. Rubio is pretty much a Profile in Cowardice. He has not the conscience nor the backbone to stand up for anything or anyone. Look how he handled Trump and his outrageous behavior towards him. Did he call him out and take him to task? No, he left his spine at the door and rushed to line up to kiss the Rancid Cheetoh’s saggy ass. As with most Republicans, he is an empty suit masquerading as a faux inspirational story of purported conservative values that just unravels the closer you look at it.

Rubio didn’t even believe in his own original conviction that he wasn’t going to run for re-election to the Senate. He changed his mind at the absolute last second when he realized there was no other way for him to stay relevant.

        Marco Rubio is … relevant?

I learn something new every day.

    Rubio believes in bottled water.

    • Stay thirsty, my friend!

        That’s comedy gold!
