I’d love to agree. However I’m surrounded by people who believe they are A) firmly in the 53% of GOP math, B) Hard working, and C) One good tax cut/deregulation from being in the 1%. The GOP platform is Greed wrapped in Fear. They may lose this and other elections here and there, but they will never have trouble finding voters or campaign dollars.

So, as the GOP distills its base down to its core mixture, we see more and more clearly that it’s made up almost exclusively of wealthy, straight, white, Christian men. I think the GOP is comfortable with this.
