The “Pharma Bro” May Be Headed Back to Jail for Threatening Hillary Clinton

Written by SK Ashby

Infamous pharma bro Martin Shkreli was recently convicted of securities fraud but he posted $5 million in bail after he was initially arrested and he's been waiting to be sentenced from the comfort of his own home.

Prosecutors are asking a judge to revoke his bail because he asked his followers on social media to assault Hillary Clinton.

“Shkreli has engaged in an escalating pattern of threats and harassment that warrant his detention pending sentencing,” prosecutors said in a filing in Brooklyn federal court late on Thursday.

They pointed to a Sept. 4 Facebook post in which Shkreli offered $5,000 to followers who could grab a strand of Clinton’s hair during the former presidential candidate’s upcoming book tour. That led the Secret Service, charged with protecting Clinton, to contact him.

Shrekli eventually deleted the post, but not before millions of people saw it and not before he was contacted by the Secret Service. This is far from the first time he has coordinated a harassment campaign against a woman. They don't call him "bro" for no reason.
