They're Collecting Less Than Half of the Oil

The collection/burning report from yesterday:

HOUSTON, June 22 (Reuters) - BP Plc (BP.L) (BP.N) said on Tuesday that its oil-capture systems at the gushing leak in the Gulf of Mexico collected or burned off 25,830 barrels (1,084,860 gallons/4,106,641 litres) of oil on Monday, the highest amount yet.

If the government estimate of 60,000 barrels per day is accurate, that would mean a total flow rate of around two million gallons per day. That's almost too massive to comprehend.

The "good" news is the two relief wells are ahead of schedule, according to the MSNBC.
