Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett reiterated his support for his party's new abortion ultrasound law today during a press conference wherein he said something infinitely creepy.
CORBETT: I’m not making anybody watch, OK. Because you just have to close your eyes. As long as it’s on the exterior and not the interior.
Just close your eyes. It will all be over soon.
Here's my question: setting aside the creep factor for a moment -- what's the point of the law if viewing the ultrasound is optional? Doesn't that subtract from the intimidation factor and simply add to the cost of providing care?
What's more important, reducing wasteful spending or abortion shaming?
Yes, that's rhetorical.
