Trump Campaign Spends Big on Trump Hotels

Written by SK Ashby

Trump's campaign has cut off joint fundraising with the RNC and the campaign is currently spending significantly more money than it's raising, but a significant portion of that what they're spending is going to Trump hotels and properties.

According to the Trump campaign's latest FEC disclosure, Trump's Las Vegas hotel has enjoyed quite a payday.

Trump’s new hotel in Washington received $13,432, according to new Federal Election Commission filings late Thursday. His hotel in New York City received $18,014. And his hotel in Las Vegas was paid $79,044. [...]

Trump’s campaign further paid $8,544 to his golf resort in Potomac Falls, Virginia, and $6,040 to his son Eric Trump’s winery in Charlottesville, Virginia.

These payments were on top of his monthly rental payments of $9,000 to the Trump Plaza and $169,758 to Trump Tower.

Trump has pledged to spend $100 million on his campaign, but so far he has only spent half of that.

As recently as last night, Trump said he would spend $100 million on his campaign. He also said he would spend $100 million at a campaign rally in Ohio yesterday, but so far he has only spent $56 million.

Trump did not personally contribute any cash to the campaign this month, he only made a $31,000 in-kind donation.

Trump told Fox News host Bret Baier this morning that he would write a check for $10 million today, but that will still leave him far short of $100 million. It's also possible we won't even know if he actually wrote a check until after the election is over.
