Good news -- the Department of Justice is planning to tell dozens and dozens of prosecutors to pack their bags and vacate their offices as soon as tomorrow.
The prosecutors, all appointed by the Trump regime, will be replaced in the coming weeks with just two exceptions that charitably demonstrate a commitment to impartiality.
Acting Attorney General Monty Wilkinson asked Delaware U.S. Attorney David Weiss, who is overseeing a tax probe of President Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden, to remain in office, the official said.
John Durham, appointed as special counsel by former Attorney General William Barr to investigate the origins of Federal investigations of links between Trump, his entourage and Russia, will also continue his work but will resign his position as U.S. attorney in Connecticut, the official said.
On one hand, it's normal for an incoming administration to fire all of the previous administration's prosecutors.
On the other hand, the Trump regime was not a normal administration and the judgment of prosecutors chosen by Trump couldn't be relied on in most cases.
If Trump were in Biden's position, I don't think there's any doubt he would also replace the prosecutors investigating his own son and their political opposition, but Biden isn't Trump. He's suppose to be different. And that's fine. That's what people voted for, after all. Weiss and Durham aren't going to find anything in any case and it's best to let them finish their job without any obstruction.
In total, over 60 prosecutors appointed by Trump will be replaced.
