Trump Tweets Bullshit Fox Story, Gets Owned by Sweden

Written by SK Ashby

With just a single tweet, Trump managed to make himself the laughing stock of the world yesterday. Again.

Trump referenced a non-existent explosion of crime in Sweden that can allegedly be attributed to the country's immigration and refugee policy but, as I implied, no such thing has occurred.

Trump confirmed yesterday that he was straight up quoting a Fox News story.

“You look at what’s happening in Germany, you look at what’s happening last night in Sweden,” the president told supporters in an airplane hangar. “Sweden, who would believe this? Sweden.” [...]

Trump seemed to be referring to a segment on Fox News’ Tucker Carlson Tonight that featured Ami Horowitz, a documentary filmmaker, whose new film draws a connection between Sweden’s liberal immigration policy and a supposed crime surge.

We live in a world where the president of the United States is easily up-staged and embarrassed by foreign social media interns.

Trump has access to the full resources of our national security and intelligence apparatus and could request to be briefed on what's actually happening in other parts of the world, but he's too busy watching cable news to attend a real briefing.

It's only a matter of time before Trump literally starts a war with a tweet.
