Trump’s Border Troops Are Painters Now

Written by SK Ashby

While many active duty service members deployed to our southern border with Mexico by Trump have served as glorified grounds keepers, others have been asked to paint according to an email from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) obtained by members of Congress.

CBS News reports that service members have been asked to improve the "aesthetic appearance" of barrier fencing by painting it.

According to the email, the text of which was provided to CBS News by a congressional aide, an unspecified number of service members were set to paint barriers in the California border town of Calexico. The task, according to the email, would last approximately 30 days.

"While the primary purpose is to improve the aesthetic appearance of the wall, there may also be an operational benefit based on our experience with painted barrier in Nogales, Arizona," the email read.

Thousands of service members are spending time away from their families for this shit.
