Trumpworld Indictments Are Coming

Written by SK Ashby

The Washington Post first reported last night that someone within Trump's orbit is most likely going to be indicted for something, but we may not know who or why for a while.

Manhattan District Attorney Cy Vance has reportedly convened a grand jury that will spend the next six months considering what I can only presume is a mountain of evidence.

NEW YORK — Manhattan's district attorney has convened the grand jury that is expected to decide whether to indict former president Donald Trump, other executives at his company or the business itself, should prosecutors present the panel with criminal charges, according to two people familiar with the development. [...]

Vance’s investigation is expansive, according to people familiar with the probe and public disclosures made during related litigation. His investigators are scrutinizing Trump’s business practices before he was president, including whether the value of specific properties in the Trump Organization’s real estate portfolio were manipulated in a way that defrauded banks and insurance companies, and if any tax benefits were obtained illegally through unscrupulous asset valuation.

The district attorney also is examining the compensation provided to top Trump Organization executives, people familiar with the matter have said.

Personally, I'm skeptical that we'll ever see Trump himself in a court room, but if that were ever going to happen this is how it would happen.

I believe Trump himself is implicitly guilty of many crimes including things we probably don't even know about yet, but Trump is also surrounded by a small army of goons and executives who do most of the actual financial and legal work for him. There's a thin veil of plausible deniability that may shield him from indictment unless the evidence gathered by Cy Vance is absolutely conclusive.

We can only speculate for now, but I believe the ultimate result of this will be the dissolution of the Trump Organization if not jail time for anyone. And assuming that Trump himself will never go to prison, losing his money laundering operation would be the next worse thing.
