Upper Down Vote

During the Bush years, the Republicans were all about "upperdown" votes. Not anymore. The president challenged them to give the American Jobs Act one such vote yesterday.

President Barack Obama challenged Republican leaders on Tuesday to put his entire $447 billion jobs plan to a vote, rather than breaking it up, to show American voters "exactly where members of Congress stand."

The Republicans are in a serious pickle with this one because no one wants to be responsible for opposing "American jobs" yet no one wants to support the president. So they're going to break it all up and only vote for the things they like -- and take credit for it in the process.
