In other news, the Biden administration is now formally recommending that all Americans eventually receive a coronavirus vaccine booster shot 8 months after their initial shots. Shots will be available beginning in September.

With a timeline of 8 months, that would mean I need to obtain a booster shot by January. I can do that.

Meanwhile, the administration reportedly made the decision to recommend booster shots because extra protection against the Delta and other variants of the virus is needed.

Finally, we've crossed back above 1,000 coronavirus deaths per day.

Aug 18 (Reuters) - The United States reported more than 1,000 COVID-19 deaths on Tuesday, equating to around 42 fatalities an hour, according to a Reuters tally, as the Delta variant continues to ravage parts of the country with low vaccination rates.

Coronavirus-related deaths have spiked in the United States over the past month and are averaging 769 per day, the highest since mid-April, according to the Reuters tally.

Death is a lagging indicator and the spread of the Delta variant hasn't peaked according to health officials; meaning we're going to see far more than 1,000 deaths per day at some point in the near future.

All people had to do was get a free shot.
