I'm wondering who, if anyone, takes the Sunday shows seriously anymore. They're nothing more than masturbatory efforts of Villager preening and wagon-circling while more relevant forms of political discourse take over.

I'd just add, by the way, that while McCain does "This Week" from Afghanistan, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) will be appear on "Face the Nation" from Afghanistan, and Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Conn.) will appear on "Fox News Sunday" from Afghanistan.
Really? The Sunday shows think these three doofs have any new insights on the war -- insights they haven't communicated in their dozens of other Sunday shows appearances on Afghanistan?
If the networks are interested in reviving the Sunday show format and infusing it with seriousness and life again, they'd give Rachel Maddow her own show in that slot.
