When Is A Win A Win?

Posted by JumpyPants

As we were watching the debate last night, my spouse, who is not even half the political junkie that I am, asked a great question in regards to Sarah Palin's incessant "we're not wavin' a white flag, we're not leavin' that dang Iraq until we got ourselves a darn victory" talk. The question was:

"What the hell would a victory be?"

And that really is the question, isn't it? It's a question McCain and his fake maverick fake partner won't define for the obvious reason that if we are to use the vaguely expressed reasons stated for invading the nation in the first place -- regime change, the execution of Mr. S. Hussein, the forming of a democratic government -- then we have already "won." "Yay."

As Senators Obama and Biden have stated over and over again, let the Iraqis-- with the police force we helped train, the massive surplus we helped them build -- deal with the violence in their nation. For crying out loud, THEY have asked for it.
