In other news, Secretary of Defense James Mattis has reportedly signed a order to send more troops to Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, Trump's Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price has ordered the agency to cut advertising for Obamacare enrollment by 90 percent!

Finally, Wells Fargo says it has uncovered 1.4 million more fake accounts in addition to the 2.1 million fake accounts uncovered last year. The company also found that 60,000 of the additional fake accounts were hit with fees.

There are rumors swirling around today that Trump will end the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. He hasn't done it yet, but if he were going to I would not be surprised it he does it tomorrow on a Friday night. He pardoned Arpaio last Friday night.

I would love to know how many of the people who Wells Fargo did this to are actually Trump voters. To put it another way, how many people who got took voted in the party that has waged war against the agency that uncovered this fiasco?

NPR has been pretty consistent with their reporting on the sleazy business practices of Wells Fargo. Among those things are the executives threatening employees with meeting a quota for accounts with quite literally saying they’d never work in this town again type stuff), signing people up for insurance they didn’t need or approve (and damaging the credit score of clients that weren’t aware they were signed up for that insurance and didn’t make payments), etc. Wells Fargo embodies many of the reasons the CFPB was created in the first place. Gone is the innocence and joy of seeing the Wells Fargo wagon in The Music Man.

I just can not imagine keeping an account with them at this point, I wonder how many customers they will have lost when this is over?

    • I feel the same way. This will affect 800,000 young people. Mueller needs to act sooner rather than later and make this nightmare stop.

I am uncertain that would make it stop. Remember – if Trump gets shown the door and Pence is not swept out with him, then Pence would step up to the plate. And thus far, I have not seen any Trump stance on the major issues that Pence does not share or support. Pence would just pick up on it and because Repugnicans view him as so “reasonable” and “calm”, the Republicans and probably the mainstream media would go along with him.

Ryan is starting to make noises like he might be a human being but I wouldn’t count on it. This is an issue of conscience. Of compassion. And simple fairness. And ……Christian charity. If the GOP actually has any of that.

It does not. No need to wonder.

            I keep hoping.

I understand. But hoping they’ll someday act in a non-socipathic way is what keeps folks from responding to them as they should. It’s the battered wife syndrome. “I keep hoping that someday he’ll not beat me so I keep giving him that chance (which, of course, he just uses to beat me again).”

Hoping someday they’ll learn is pointless. They clearly won’t. Someday we should learn that.
