A Moment for the Cartoons

It looks like the two funniest, most creative shows on Cartoon Network are going away. C.H. Greenblatt, the creator of Chowder reports:

No mention of Chowder or Flapjack in the summer shows. And you can't say it's just new shows they're promoting, because Clone Wars has been on, Flicks has been on, and Total Drama Action is a sequel to an existing show. There's a sea change afoot and we're getting swept under.

Flapjack and Chowder were probably the only two shows on CN that were entertaining -- and visually inventive. The page Greenblatt links to has eight stills from their upcoming Summer shows. Exactly ONE of them is actually, you know, a 2D cartoon. Between Cartoon Network not showing cartoons, and SciFi changing its name to SyFy, there's definitely something weird afoot in the cable television space. And by "weird" I mean "unquestionably stupid."
