Healthcare

Put The Constitution Down…

...before you hurt your feeble brain, Ms. Foxx.

Rep. Virginia Foxx appears to be continuing her quest to be as crazy as Michele Bachmann:

"The Constitution doesn't grant a right to health care, and most of us are living as much by the Constitution as we can. It also doesn't give the federal government the authority to deal with health care. As you may know, the 10th amendment, it says if it isn't mentioned in the Constitution to be done by the federal government, it's left to the states or the people."

They really need to stop issuing pop-up book versions of the Constitution to wingnuttia. Besides, you would think that a Bible-loving ideology would understand the concept of interpretation.

For what it's worth, as Benen points out, "general welfare" would easily cover healthcare.
