Questions for the White House

This in-depth article from Tim Dickinson at Rolling Stone raises a few red flags about the administration's response to the oil spill.

I have two questions:

1) Why was the administration constantly low-balling the flow rate?

2) Why is BP Atlantis still drilling at a depth 2,000 feet deeper than Deepwater Horizon?

I still believe quite strongly that the president would do well to not only cancel plans to expand offshore drilling, but to also walk back his plans for clean coal and additional nuclear power plants. More on the nuclear thing in a bit.
