Republican Party

Republikamikazes

By guest blogger Steven Weber

Stripped of all credibility and conscience, determined to twist every truth and compelled by their very nature to spin every positive turn in these troubled times, desperate even to pervert the very issues that give them their precious ideological boners (i.e., the fight against terrorism, which on Obama's watch is having its greatest success), the Republicans have used the only option available to them:

Homicide bombing.

Kamikaze zombies that they are, they know death intimately, since the party they once inhabited when living is now itself possessed of dead values, dead ideas and dead hearts.

And like contagion spread from masses of putrefying corpses, they know instinctively how to attack the most vulnerable parts of a society already trembling beneath the weight of rampant, thoughtless greed. Void of answers, void of sympathy, finally detached from the Democracy which foolishly allowed them life in the first place, and cowards to the end, the Republican right wing knows it will molder alone when it finally collapses. And yet it is determined to bring as many down with it as possible.

From Boehnor and McConnell, to Baye and Lieberman; to Fux Noose and every other grunting bagger, birther and deather, the xenophobic, loathsome legion of doom marches on, sowing discord and confusion, strewing obstruction and destruction before them even as their life masks chip away to reveal the soulless armature beneath.

And through their equally feckless media mouthpieces, they cry treason, mock true patriotism, and seethe with jealousy that their deeds have wrought such widespread misery, that their machinations have doomed them to an eternity of ignominy.

And while they are most certainly dead, all it takes is one corpse to spoil a party.

And one kamikaze party to sink a nation.
