Senate Reaches Agreement with Nelson

It looks like the Senate has 60 votes without going to Olympia Snowe. I have no idea what the substance of the abortion language is, but you can read it here.

UPDATE: Nelson will rear his bulbous Fred Flintstone head over the conference committee:

If there are material changes in that caucus, chnages that advesrely affect the agreement, I reserve the right to vote against the next cloture vote... I will vote against it if that is the case.

Jon Cohn reports that pro-choice Democrats are "cool" with the abortion language.

UPDATE 2: According to this post, lifetime and annual limits are banned after 2014. Plus, Ron Wyden's free choice vouchers are in the bill. This means employees can opt out of their employer-based policy and sign up for the exchanges. Medicaid expansion to 133 percent of FDL is intact. And there appears to be a John Boehner tax -- 10 percent tax on tanning beds. Seriously.

UPDATE 3: The CBO report on the manager's amendment is out. Reduces the deficit by an additional $2 billion over the original Senate bill which reduced the deficit by $130 billion in the first ten years. The CBO also reports that the premiums in the exchange policies "could not vary premiums to reflect differences in enrollees’ health." Interesting.
