Wingnuts Will Enroll in the Public Option, Too

I have this running theory that around 45 percent of all Americans signing up for the (eventual) public insurance plan will be self-described conservatives -- despite the fact that they described the public option as everything from socialism to eugenics.

Further evidence of my theory here. Republican members of Congress are sucking down their share of recovery act stimulus money even though they loudly fought against it. The latest in line for their "generational theft" stimulus check is Jack Kingston -- the friendly wingnut. Meanwhile, Rep. Phil Gingrey tried to weasel around the issue by explaining:

“If the Democrats are hellbent on spending an astronomical sum of money, it is my job as a member of Congress to see that the communities I represent receive consideration for the federal funds that the Democrats are spending, whether I agreed with its allocation or not.”

I think Rush Limbaugh used a similar excuse about Oxycotin. Hey, even though I've publicly ridiculed other people for drug abuse and declared that they ought to be imprisoned for life, it's my responsibility to support the American pharmaceutical industry, so... (gulp. gulp, gulp)
