I’m surprised the trolls who have been infesting the daily banter site haven’t followed people here.. Banter used to be fun to comment on, now they allow right wingers and other scumbags to post name calling and other things and don’t bother policing their site at all. Sad..

Thanks for the podcast with Driftglass & Bluegal.
Minor issue….Bluegal, wonderful as she is, is still associated with a vengeful and disgusting website that banned me from commenting when I didn’t show enough love for Edward Snowden or fulfill their expected quota of unbridled worship for Glenn Greenwald.
I love me some Driftglass and Blugal and am glad they are now keeping better company rather than the zealots at C&L.
Perhaps DG & BG can temper the sentiment of the alt-left, but it’s hard to see how, as they remain part of it.

Proleft Podcast is my Saturday morning hangover cure. If there was one, … a cure that is.

I don’t know Bob..did your former colleague carry a gun before he did a show with you..or after he started working with you?!?

Media and the nightly news used to provide facts for the people, now, even after the disaster of Rump is well apparent the Dems are still losing elections because Fox et al are still pumping out the propaganda. What level of disaster will prompt our country to grow up and realize that the right wing does not have the citizens’ best interests at heart? They allowed Rump to become their leader despite numerous opportunities they had to stop him, as you all said, the American people must be made to understand that Republicans sold their souls and are raping the country and the 99 percent for their own benefit.

Happy Happy Joy Joy, my two favorite superstars of political podcast galaxies have collided into one.

The poll number I saw this morning was Jon Ossoff at something like 42%, so no, no upset win in the first round; as I type, the AP’s live resuts page shows Ossoff at 48%.

That robocall was pitiful. It’s hard to believe anyone heard that and decided, “Huh, I thought I supported Jon Ossoff, but dammit, that Nancy Pelosi and the other super-liberals are going to destroy Murca. I’d better vote for one of the forty-seven Rs in the race to keep that from happening.”

The Rs do love their conjuring words.

Bob, Nancy Pelosi is liberal, outspoken (albeit in that collegial way Congresscritters learn to adopt), a woman of a certain age, and formerly Speaker of the House. For Rs—especially R males—she ticks almost all the EVIL! boxes. In a way, it’s too bad she doesn’t resemble one of the bottle blondes on Fox News, because Righties’ cognitive dissonance would be a hoot and a half to behold.

If Jon Ossoff does win, Karen Handel will be hopping mad. The next meeting of the Georgia Republicans won’t be a quiet, happy affair.

Donald Trump may be a R who’s firmly within the mainstream of R politics with regard to his nominations, but his non-nominations are something no one else would dare try. Deliberately leaving hundreds of middle- and senior-level positions unfilled would never occur to Jeb! Bush or Marco Rubio; they’d send up the names of golf buddies and Heritage Foundation hacks instead of qualified people, but there’s no way they’d leave positions open. That has Steve Bannon’s brimstone-and-Ripple smell all over it.

Driftglass, the Rs will simply brazen it out. “_____ isn’t a real conservative!” is their go-to move whenever an R president’s approval ratings nosedive or he briefly comes to his senses and doesn’t sign a bill to bring back workhouses or whatever it is that makes Rs haz a sad.

Cleek’s Law: Today’s conservatism is the opposite of what liberals want today; updated daily. (That’s a core value, isn’t it?)

“That’s like saying the Dark Ages were great for Irish book copyists.” Historical and hilarious. Bravissimo.

Bob, I think what gives liberalism, however defined, its strength is what the intro to the Bob and Elvis Show called “a healthy respect for empirical reality.” (Or, as Philip K Dick said, “Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn’t go away.”) Sure, liberals and Lefties have our blind spots and occasionally indulge in magical thinking, but at least we acknowledge that there is objective reality.

I don’t believe Alex Jones is a performance artist for a femtosecond. A mountebank, yes, a performance atrist, no way in hell. Jones just wants to see his kids again without Family Services being present, no more and no less.

Holy cats, Jones is only 43. It’s as if he’s the exact opposite of Dorian Grey.

Cable news influences mostly news executives in other media. Liberals don’t have a seat at the table most Sundays on the yak shows, partly because cable news hasn’t shown many liberals during the previous week, and partly) because conservatives are better at screeching about how UNFAIR! and FAKE! news coverage is, and almost infinitely better at Astroturf activism to amplify that screeching.

    Conservatism can never fail ….

High Broderism is the unofficial religion of the Sabbath Gasbags (let us take a moment to gaze in awe at Calvin Trillin’s genius) and The Village generally. The problem is that High Broderism is easy, lazy, relying on a fable of symmetrical radicalization instead of the reality that the GOP has flown off the rails to create a phony Center that’s anything but.

Making that phony Center uninhabitable would be healthy for the country.

Mo’ Labels. Sounds reasonable to me.

#NoLabels comment made me remember this old pic so i dug it up.. (took some time to hunt down this pic too!)

Daily Caller .. i wonder if they are still looking for Obama’s birth certificate.

So in this pic you see Jamie Weinstein of Daily Caller
Matt Lewis who used to work for Daily Caller (now with Daily Beast and reg guest on CNN)
Our good friends Alex Jones and Roger Stone.

… and alas, major arrogant narcissist Trump buddy (and a Daily Caller fan) Joe Scarborough is in the mix …

P.S. gotta love the way msnbc and cnn are mainstreaming sites like Daily Caller and Breitbart by having their people on these networks now..

Reporting live from the Cesca podcast…

I catch The Professional Left podcast every week. It was awesome hearing this team up. Can’t wait until Thursday’s show.

  • The KGB Ate Our Votes

“Loaded pistol” and “fanny pack” cancel each other out. Like Lindsey Graham carrying brass knuckles in his crystal-embellished Spring Cotillion clutch.

What a show!!! It was GREAT! I’m wondering, am I the only one in your audience that had a severe Murphy Brown flashback at about 12:42 or so? It was a joy! Thanx for that.
