    • Kimberley

And yes, I am well aware of this debate.

      • Scopedog

You’d think, Kimberley, that the media would have some idea about how impeachment works, since Bill Clinton’s impeachment and Senate trial occurred around 19 years ago…

…Actually, I stand corrected. I’m sure a good chunk of the media have probably forgotten that.

  • Zero Dark Thirsty ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

As for Bob mentioning he can’t believe Pence didn’t know about Flynn.. here ya go:

    1) Politico article where he claims he didn’t know about Flynn investigation: http://politi.co/2pPjOMk

    2) Read this pdf, note the date https://democrats-oversight.house.gov/sites/democrats.oversight.house.gov/files/documents/2016-11-18.EEC%20to%20Pence.pdf

  • Zero Dark Thirsty ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

Louise Mensch ? she’s a RW nutjob from Britain.. I can’t believe you’re trying to give this notorious woman cred 🙁

    • Kimberley

She has been correct. She has also been wrong. I actually prefer Claude Taylor. BUT I take all of it with a grain a salt. What they say isn’t news and hasn’t been verified or confirmed. They have sources and they share what they’re told. I can’t speak for everyone, but for me, I enjoy speculating as we wait to hear the real deal.

      • Scopedog

Agreed. Taylor has been correct (and the same can be said of Mensch), but yes, take what they say with a grain of salt.

On the other hand, both Malcolm Nance and John Schindler were both talking about Russian interference and their connections to people in the Trump campaign back in 2016 during the campaign. The mainstream media chose to ignore them (of course) because Hillary’s emails were just soooo tempting a target.

  • katanahamon

Glad you spoke about Bernie and his continued malignant presence. I’ve pushed this article elsewhere, but if you haven’t read “On Becoming Anti Bernie” at Voluble it’s a great read. It’s a year old but still relevant, especially when someone gets in your face about “St.” Bernie, there are a lot of great facts and arguments in it.

  • katanahamon

..oh…good…Chaffetz is going to Fox News…barf, barf, gag, gag….must be because he’s so photogenic and attractive..

  • katanahamon

Hatch is about as mentally damaged as Rump..he looks like he died several years ago and was nearly successfully embalmed. I’m not surprised to hear these revelations about the Republican Party..once you’ve sold out, or decided to profit by any means, it doesn’t matter if the money comes from Americans or Russians. I only hope these investigations really get to the truth, and don’t stop short and offer absolution for these treasonous cretins.

  • Badgerite

trump lied 492 times during his first 100 days. That isn’t changed by a “buleve me”.

  • Badgerite
    • katanahamon

Daily Beast has a piece about the fact that Rosenstein authorized a very narrow set of parameters..they speculate Rump could skate, then be emboldened. A frightening thought..

      • Badgerite

Well. We’ll see. The Trump Monster actually seems quite feeble to me.
Either way. I can’t see him serving a full term. Let alone a second one.

    • Scopedog

I remember seeing Ben-Veniste on TV during the Clinton Impeachment and Senate trial. For Mueller to bring him in is a big deal, and ought to make the Trumpsters turn their Fruit-of-the-Looms into fudge factories.

      • Badgerite

I’m thinking this is quite serious. I know it is serious. And the appointment of someone like Mueller indicates that. I think his ultimate commitment is to the law. And that is all we ask. That the law and the US Constitution come first.

  • Draxiar

Since we’re in this miasma of terrible things I’m going to revel in the one of the good aspects about it. It’s exposed a wide swath of Republicans as being rotten, ethically compromised, and power hungry near to the point of treason if not actually treason. They are now enduring in exponential fashion what they promised to unleash on Hillary Clinton for the life of her presidency had she been elected (and they would have been investigations based on nothing more than a wish list). They get to eat the putrid fruit of their own making. They built this…I hope they enjoy the view because I sure am.

I still haven’t heard anyone explain where the election vote totals come from, how they are secured, and whether or not they are verifiable.

      • Badgerite

I get the feeling that there is a whole political party that does not want to know any of this and most especially does not how vulnerable our system is explained to the public.

  • Badgerite
  • jake

I know you love Jacki and we all miss Chez, but I’m personally feeling Kimberly…just sayin.

  • Badgerite

About that money connection. I do remember the odd goings on during the campaign between a computer located in Alfa Bank in Russia and a computer server located in trump Tower. And what was odd was that the communications were….exclusive. Which is rather unusual. Follow the money. I suspect it leads right to Vladimir Putin. If all that was talked about on your show stacks up the way it looks to be stacking up, what Putin and Russian intelligence did during this campaign was an act of war against the United States designed to subvert our representative system of government and our laws. To subvert the United States Constitution itself.
As one of the best presidents in my lifetime has said, our fundamental rights may be self evident but they are not self executing. And our democracy and our rights are worth the fight.

  • I’ve come to think that being called a Feminazi online is a badge of honor. Goodness knows, it happens at least once a week, if not more. When I heard about Ailes I started singing, “Ding dong the fat bastard’s dead!” I understand he has family but which of them has come forward to condemn what he did? I love my family but if ANY of them did what he did, I’d publicly disown them. So I’m definitely going to hell, at least the one my fundamentalist family members believe in.

Ever since Herr Hair was elected, I’ve said variations of FFS more than I have in the rest of my life combined.

Putin is a plague on Humanity. The man is allowing concentration camps for gay men in Chechnya right now.

What would be hysterical would be a cartoon showing Herr Hair as being sentient and saying whatever is on his mind. Couldn’t you see it? Trump at a press conference saying, “No. No. I didn’t collude with Russia.” and then his hair laughing and saying, “These reporters…what a bunch of looosers!”

I agree with Kimberley, “Vive Le Resistance!” even after Trump is gone because with Pence lying about Flynn and Ryan knowing that Trump was on the Russian payroll before he was even nominated, it’s turtles all the way down.

Excellent Russian, Kimberley! The only thing I remember from my one semester is “I live in a house”, “I speak Russian”, and “I am reading a newspaper”. I should have made it my minor because then I would have an “in” with our new overlords.

Poor Chris Cornell, that’s so sad. His voice was so powerful and quite versatile. Loss of a great talent.

The Masada is sacred to Israel. All the Masada residents committed suicide rather than submit to Roman rule. It’s a VERY powerful symbol and Trump not understanding that and being unwilling to visit it respectfully is so frigging typical. After the insult of outing their asset, this is just too much. I do wonder, however, how much Trump will have to do to get Netanyahu to turn against him.

    • Ziggy Blue

Just as an aside, regarding Ailes. I was a 20 year old usher at The Mike Douglas show in Philadelphia in 1970. I was a long-haired hippie and this seemed not to sit well with Jabba. After I walked out of the segment where Mike interviewed Barry Goldwater (BG was THE conservative boogeyman at that time), Jabba promptly fired me. I cursed him out and said to myself, “this bag of shit” will get his, someday. Finally, SOMEDAY came last week. Unfortunately, Jabba has inflicted unimaginable pain on American political discourse since 1970. Anyway, working for Mike Douglas wasn’t a total loss as I was able to sneak in (the doorman knew me), after I was fired, and got to hang out in the “green room” with John & Yoko, plus Bobby Seale and Jerry Rubin.

      • Very cool! It comforts me to think of Ailes rotting in the ground, at least at a minimum. For those of us who believe in an afterlife, there’s hope he’s rotting in hell.

        • Ziggy Blue

Yeah, it was a fun gig. I also met (prior to being fired) Patty Duke, Ethel Merman, Ozzie & Harriet, Peter Lawford and last, but not least, George Carlin. To this day, I don’t know who green-lighted (lit?) John & Yoko plus all of the left-wing guests they brought with them. I guess it was strictly a ratings thing for old Jabba as the Lennon week did boffo ratings. Anyway, I share your afterlife wishes for the fact, ugly fucker.

  • ProudLiberalAlways

At 40:00——it’s (I think) that it’s a matter of Rump being not so much blinded by ideology as by his EGO. He has always to be the biggest, best, baddest,(?) etc.

    • I was talking about Republican voters, not Trump. As you implied: he has no ideology.

  • Bob, you missed a bleeping f-bomb at ~10:33. Good show, btw.

  • Oh, thank god I can listen to your show. I’ve been sitting here reading the Twitter scroll and losing my shpadoinkle. Our daily Drumpf nightmare continues apace. I sure hope the show is funny because I need a laugh and it’s too early to start drinking here.

Did you see the stock market has started to react to infowars???

    • katanahamon

“Stocks Surged As Trading Floors Watched ‘Breaking’ InfoWars Video. It Was Two Weeks Old, and Wrong.
Traders and analysts are wondering if “Infowars [is] a site I have to start reading now” to gauge what the average person believes is true in the middle of a “propaganda war.”

      From Daily Beast..

  • Bob, you missed an f-bomb at 10:33.
