Total Recall in Wisconsin

Good news from the great white north.

The Wisconsin board that oversees elections rejected most challenges Monday to a recall effort targeting three Republican state senators, clearing the way for a July 12 election.

The Government Accountability Board [GAB] rejected the challenges made to recall petitions targeting Republican Sens. Dan Kapanke of La Crosse, Randy Hopper of Fond du Lac and Luther Olsen of Ripon.

State Senators Robert Cowles, Sheila Harsdorf, and Alberta Darling are also facing potential recalls and the Accountability Board will judge each of them beginning May 31st.

How's the union-killing Scott Walker working out for you now, Republicans? Just a few months ago there was buzz about Walker possibly entering the presidential race and several current GOP candidates, including Tim Pawlenty and Newt Gingrich, heartily endorsed Walker's efforts.

If the currently pending recall campaigns are successful, the Republican majority in Wisconsin will be over.
