What Could Go Wrong?

Written by SK Ashby

Here's a great idea.

In the Trump administration, our national parks and public lands could be overseen by the president of Lucas Oil, a man who funds groups that actively oppose the Humane Society.

Sources close to Donald Trump told Politico this week that the Republican presidential candidate is considering oil executive and vocal animal rights opponent, Forrest Lucas, to serve as Secretary of the Interior if he is elected to the White House. The Department of the Interior (DOI) oversees 500 million acres of public lands, including America’s 413 national parks, the protection of endangered species, and federal oil, gas, and coal reserves.

It doesn't take a stretch of the imagination to see where this would lead.

Our national parks would be opened up for mining and drilling operations. Coastlines would be plundered. Dormant coal mines would spring into action. Environmental regulation and protection of local animals would be completely tossed aside. Every pipeline would be approved.

A Trump presidency would do irreparable harm to the environment and accelerate global warming.
