Literally dragged.

This photo really got to me:

I'm not sure what else I'll be posting today because this far and away the most important thing right now.

Posted today. It’s why I find the notion of appealing to “Never Trump” R’s to be more and more pointless. They don’t share our values. To put it mildly.

We see people being arrested for protesting cuts to Medicaid. Red-staters will see on Fox News Channel a disreputable band of Leftist scum being treated better than they should.

If the Rs do somehow manage to pass The Why Won’t You Moochers Just Die Already? Act of 2017, those same Murcans will complain that Granny’s Medicaid is being cut (they’ll assume, with the assistance of the Wingnut Wurlitzer, it’s the work of Heartland-hating Ds). They’ll also continue to vote R.

    Disheartening, it is.

This is why Dems will not and should not vote to support this in any way.
This is the GOP’s baby, lock, stock and barrel. They own all of it. Including the tax give away to the 1% of the 1%.

      • muselet

Absolutely true. However, it won’t make any difference. The Rs, and the Right more generally, will blame the Ds no matter what.

My fearless prediction of the go-to excuse: “If the Democrats hadn’t rammed Obamacare down the throats of the American public, [consequence of the R deathcare bill] would never have happened.”

        • Still I’m with Badgerite on this one. If any DINO’s vote for this abomination of a bill there should be dire consequences for them. Munchin, I’m looking at you!

Let’s see what Joe Manchin does.

Last month my paycheck was 11 thousand dollars… All I was doing was easy online work at home for 3-4 hrs/daily that I discovered on the internet and they paid me 95 bucks every hour… Try it yourself

Oh, I agree. No D should support the R bill, full stop. But let’s be realistic: the Right-Wing Noise Machine will find a way to blame the Ds, regardless.

Someone mentioned on Twitter that Red State is already on that particular kick. I can’t bother to actually look. Hardly surprising.

      • muselet

        Predictable, really. *sigh*

  • Only 4 senators have come out to say they are against the bill “as it is written” (Cruz, Paul, a guy from Utah and ???). Probably means they want some concessions to make it even worse. I can’t believe they want to pass this abomination.

    • Aynwrong

      It’s not cruel enough.

      • Toolymegapoopoo

Absolutely correct. The media missed it, as they always do, but the original opposition to Trumpcare in the House from the Freedom Caucus was because it didn’t go far enough to punish the poor. Conservatives hate the poor and will oppose anything that helps them even a tiny bit. They are horrific people. Jesus would hate them.

  • This really will determine what kind of country we want to be moving forward. Vast majorities of Americans want these safety nets in place and strengthened, while only a minority want to destroy them. If the minority takes the day, it says a lot about us and our institutions.

    • ninjaf

This minority votes and votes consistently. Until we do the same, we will continued to be ruled by this minority.
